Rodrigo Alvim's rise at Flamengo has been rapid and intriguing. Signed to shadow Juan at left-back, the player quickly adapted to the group, albeit in a different role. Demonstrating great aptitude as a defensive midfielder, which he had already done during his time in German football, Alvim began to be used by coach Andrade in this capacity. He performed well and, therefore, could earn another opportunity this Wednesday (March 17.03) against Universidad de Chile.

Already in tune with his teammates, the player explains that the good relationship was fundamental for him to be able to develop his football skills right from his early days.

"I was very well received by the group and I'm adapting well. I'm being used in the middle, I've already played as a full-back, but the aim is always to help Flamengo, regardless of the role. I'm happy with my start," he said.

Experienced, Alvim has played in European football and is well aware of the challenges of international tournaments. The versatile 26-year-old believes the Copa Santander Libertadores should be viewed differently.

"I've experienced both national and international football. I know my experience will help me in this competition. The Libertadores is unlike any other domestic competition, and it's Flamengo's main goal this year. You can expect a lot of dedication, as the entire group is focused on playing another great game in Chile," he said.

With Toró suspended after being sent off in the last match against Caracas, and Fernando injured, Rodrigo is likely to start Wednesday's game. Despite this, he remains humble and composed.

"I'm calm. The expectations are good, but I have to keep working day to day to be prepared when I have an opportunity," he added.
