Being the mother of a soccer player is no easy task. You have to understand your son's choice, accompany him to training, tryouts, and youth team matches, and deal with uncertainty about the future. Precisely for this reason, many mothers don't encourage their sons to pursue this career. Others, however, support him and reap the rewards in the future. This is the case with Dona Cláudia.

Mother of young defender Fabrício, who recently earned a starting spot at Flamengo and had already played 13 games this season before being injured and missing the last few matches, she has always encouraged her son and can now witness his success. A Brazilian champion with Flamengo last season, a U-20 World Cup runner-up with the Brazilian national team, and a holder of several youth team trophies, Fabrício can already be considered a promising prospect who thrived at Gávea and thanks his mother for his success.

"My mother has always supported me, always encouraged me, and I think I owe a lot to her. Since I was little, I've always had a lot of support at home to play football, and today I try to do my best to give back," said the defender.

At age 20, Fabricio began this return with a tribute on his own skin. Upon returning from Egypt, where he played for Brazil in the U-20 World Cup last year, the player got a tattoo of his mother's name and the phrase "Mi Madre, Mi Vida" on his right arm.

"I got this tattoo when I got back from the World Cup. A lot of people even thought it was for my girlfriend, so I also got it for my mother, my life. It's a tribute and a way of saying thank you too," he added.

This Sunday, Fabrício will not face São Paulo, still injured, but he should enjoy the day with his mother and preparing to return to the red-black team as soon as possible.
