Back pain kept Adriano out of training on Monday and Tuesday, but the Emperor still has a chance to face Universidad de Chile in a fourth round match of Group 8 of the Copa Santander Libertadores. The match against the Chileans was scheduled for this Wednesday, but has not yet been confirmed due to rain in Rio.

Coach Andrade still doesn't know if he'll be able to count on the striker and will wait until moments before the ball rolls to be sure about the number 10's lineup.

"We'll wait for Adriano. He has a problem with his lower back, and if the game were today, he wouldn't play. Everything will be evaluated to see if it's worth playing him at this time," he said.

If the Emperor is indeed sidelined, Bruno Mezenga, who trained as a starter on Monday, should get a chance. Another possibility is for Petkovic to play in midfield, pushing Vinícius Pacheco forward to form a strike partnership with Vagner Love.
