While many Rio residents took advantage of the sunny Saturday to enjoy the beach, Flamengo trained hard at Ninho do Urubu. Coach Andrade led a 50-minute training session at the Flamengo Training Center in Vargem Grande. The starting lineup included two new additions: Fabrício, who trained in place of Ronaldo Angelim, and Fernando, who once again replaced Kleberson, who was experiencing thigh pain. The five-time world champion only did physical training in the gym.

The starting lineup for the training session consisted of Bruno, Leonardo Moura, Alvaro, Fabrício, and Juan; Toró, Willians, Fernando, and Vinícius Pacheco; Vagner Love and Adriano. The Love Gunner made his mark, but Fierro also did his, and the session ended in a 1-1 draw. The first 25 minutes of the training session were closed to the press.

The red-and-black squad has a day off this Sunday and resumes training next Monday. The team continues preparing for its Copa Libertadores debut on Wednesday at 21:50 pm against Universidad Católica at the Maracanã stadium.
