Defender Alvaro's red-and-black victory in the derby against Fluminense this Sunday at the Maracanã stadium nearly ruined the team's comeback. Even so, coach Andrade doesn't completely condemn his player. According to him, the refereeing has been very strict in the 2010 State Championship.

The red-and-black manager doesn't absolve the defender of blame, but he hopes for a slightly less stringent approach in future rounds. For the coach, the Carioca referees are handing out cards a bit excessively.

"Alvaro is partly to blame, but I think the refereeing is being too harsh. Sometimes you see six or seven unnecessarily yellow cards in a game. His yellow, for example, was because he came on strong, but the ball wasn't even a foul. I'm against violence and I'm not here to defend Alvaro, but this standard is too harsh," he explained.

Regarding the defense, which conceded three goals in the derby and now has conceded nine goals in just five matches, the red-and-black coach isn't particularly concerned. According to him, as long as the team scores more goals than it concedes, everything is fine.

"We can't lose. That's what worries us. If we win 5-4 or 10-9, it doesn't matter, the important thing is the three points. We can solve that kind of problem over time," he added.
