In modern soccer, it's common for a coach to organize his team based on the opponent. This is, for example, what Vasco da Gama coach Vagner Mancini is doing for Sunday's (October 14.10) derby against Flamengo, at 19:30 p.m., at Maracanã. However, Vasco's manager, Andrade, doesn't subscribe to this philosophy.

The coach doesn't mince words, doesn't think of innovative tactical solutions, and relies on simplicity to prevail. With a cohesive and motivated group under his command, Andrade doesn't want to change the red-and-black team for the derby, regardless of the opponent's actions.

"We have our own style of play, and I don't change it depending on the opponent. I remain true to my style of play and work. Everyone knows I play with Adriano and Love, and I won't give up on that. If they come with two or three defenders, Flamengo will continue with two strikers just the same," he noted.

In addition to maintaining the same tactical scheme, the coach wants to see from his players the same commitment and quality of play they demonstrated against Resende and Caracas. However, he calls for attention to a concerning factor: the red cards.

"This really worries me. Two Libertadores games and two expulsions is worrying and could ruin everything. We came away with positive results in both games, but we know we could have paid a high price," he concluded.

Maldonado, who was expected to be included at least on the bench, will not play in the game. The Chilean will be rested for the match against Universidad de Chile, in his home country, next Wednesday (17.10/XNUMX).
