Angelim approves possible defensive partners

With Jean suspended, coach Silas will have to make a change to Flamengo's team for next Sunday's match (05.09), against Santos, at Maracanã. The number 26 was sent off in the duel with Cruzeiro, in Uberlândia, and therefore, David and Welinton are in the fight for a place alongside Ronaldo Angelim in the red-black defense.
And the number 4 doesn't care about choosing a teammate. On the contrary: he leaves the headache, considered positive, to the coach, but shows confidence in both potential defensive partners.
"They're both very high-quality players. Welinton played very well when he came in, David hasn't played yet since he renewed, but I already know him and I know what he can do. Whoever comes in will definitely give their best," he said.
According to him, Flamengo has a lot of quality in its defensive system and there will be no technical or tactical problems with either of them.
And, of course, there's the chemistry. After all, Angelim has played with Welinton several times since 2007, and he even played with David in the sixth-place match in 2009.
"There won't be any problems. Whoever comes in at the back will do well. I'm sure either of them will do their best and help Flamengo," he added.
