Angelim celebrates contract renewal with Fla
At 35, "Steel Thin" isn't thinking about retiring and dreams of new titles

The contract renewal has made Ronaldo Angelim even more confident for the 2011 season. Now 35, "Steel Thin" knows he needs to continue dedicating himself and working hard to maintain his place in the red-and-black squad. Now is the time to celebrate the contract extension and not think about the future just yet.
The defender doesn't hide his happiness at securing another six months at the club he has always supported and where he won his biggest titles.
"It's very important, what I wanted, because I had a contract until the middle and ended up renewing until the end. I'm happy, I hope to win more titles. I like Flamengo, I like what I do and I hope to be successful this year too," said the defender, still not thinking about retirement.
"I have to take one step at a time. I'll see how I react during the season. I'm holding up well, I haven't been injured in a while, I don't have any muscle injuries, I always train normally, in good shape, so let's wait. I'll finish my contract by the end of the year and then I'll see if I can stop," he noted.
After starting the year on the bench, Angelim promises to continue competing with David, Welinton, and Jean for a starting spot. And with Flamengo playing a large number of games this year, he knows he'll have his chances.
"You always have to have the goal of playing. That will never leave my mind. I will always fight for my position. I respect the boys, they are my friends, good players, but on the field we will fight and I am sure that I will have chances to play, everyone will, because there are four competitions and you always have to be prepared to perform well when called upon," he concluded.
