The first reinforcement of the "Zico Era" as Flamengo's executive director is defender Jean, 30, who showed up on Tuesday morning (15.06), trained with the group and said he was ready to be a starter for the Rubro-Negro. The player arrives at Gávea after a long period of inactivity, but has the confidence not only of the board but also of his teammates.
Defender Ronaldo Angelim, who has been at Gávea since 2006 and has played 228 games for Flamengo, welcomed his new teammate, praised the other defenders in the group and expressed confidence that Jean can help the team evolve in the Brasileirão.
"Jean is a good addition. He's a quality player who will help us a lot. We know we need to make signings. We have four quality defenders here, but anyone who arrives will help," he said.
He also believes that the last few days of rest were crucial for the team to be even more motivated to return to the G4 of the Brasileirão.
"It was a good and productive week for us. We're back with full force to dedicate ourselves and seek the results we want in the second half of the year. Of course, it's always good to have a break and spend some time with family, but it's also good to be back and working," he concluded.
