The desire shown by Flamengo's young players in the derby against Botafogo last Wednesday (July 14.07) excited the more experienced players. This was the case with defender Ronaldo Angelim. Happy with his teammates' dedication, the player praised their motivation and warned that this should be Flamengo's approach in the Brasileirão.

"When you have less technique, you have to go all out, with determination, and try to help in the best way possible. That's what the team did. We scored a goal, held on to the result, and that's the mindset," he said.

The defender recalled that the group no longer has the Brazilian champion squad, but emphasized that a good part of that base remained in Gávea, in addition to praising the quality of the youngsters promoted from the youth categories.

"The fans are smart and are seeing that we don't have the same squad as last year. We have good players, but we're still a bit lacking in some positions. Last year, we had a meeting, a pact, to defend strongly and not concede a goal. The guys were very dedicated and helped a lot in that game against Botafogo," said the defender, who also showed confidence in the players in his position.

 "Any defender who comes in will perform. Welinton is fast, he had a great game yesterday, he's difficult to dribble past, and we're happy because we have several players in that position and we know that Flamengo will be well served, regardless of who Rogério picks," he added.
