The rivalry between Flamengo and Fluminense is nothing new for defender Ronaldo Angelim. Having been at Flamengo for five years, he has already played in numerous derbies against the Tricolor das Laranjeiras. But with each match against their rival, he feels butterflies in his stomach as if it were the first.

"In my opinion, Fluminense is the Rio de Janeiro rival that most often challenges Flamengo. There's a great rivalry due to the number of Carioca titles, and it's always a special kind of derby. Both teams always want to win, and I'm sure this one will be no different," he observed in an interview with Flamengo's official website.

Angelim remembers the match against their rivals in this year's State Championship. Flamengo went into halftime losing 3-1, but with an unforgettable comeback, they turned the score around to 5-3.

"That 5-3 victory in the State Championship was my unforgettable derby against Fluminense. Especially because of the situation. We were losing 3-1 at halftime and then we turned it around. It was a match that nobody believed we could turn around, and that really stuck with me," recalled the defender, who hopes that Flamengo will adapt quickly to their new home to achieve victories at Engenhão.

"I would prefer to play at the Maracanã, of course, but the Engenhão is a great stadium. Our fans will certainly be there, regardless of the stadium, and for the players it's a little different, but we will try to make the Engenhão our home and try to win the games," he added.
