The Brasileirão is characterized by evenly matched matches. Winning at home is one of the key factors in winning the title, but some stumbles are forgiven. And after draw 1-1 against Avaí this Wednesday (21.07), at Maracanã, Flamengo now turns its attention to the next match, against Internacional, at Beira Rio, on Sunday (25.07).
Accustomed to fans demanding results, Ronaldo Angelim agrees with the fans, who left frustrated with the draw against the Santa Catarina team. However, the defender made a point of praising the team's performance throughout the game, even though they didn't secure a victory.
"The team played well. We had a very good first half and didn't have many problems at the back. We knew they would come out on the counterattack, and we adapted well to that approach. They changed their style a bit in the second half, but we kept our momentum. However, Avaí found a free kick and ended up equalizing. That's football," analyzed Angelim, who guarantees a strong effort to make up for the points lost at Maracanã.
"I know we have a tough game ahead of us. Facing Inter away from home is always very difficult, especially knowing their rise. We know they're improving in the league, but we want a result too. It will be difficult, but we're going there to get the three points," concluded the defender.
