"It was a good match given the preparation time we had and everything we set out to do. With each game, we're getting back into the rhythm of playing well. That comes little by little. Not conceding a goal was my birthday present," he said with good humor.
Playing for the first time this season, the goalkeeper took the opportunity to praise the work of the Garotos do Ninho in previous matches, which saw three victories in the red-black team's start to the Taça Guanabara season.
"We were very happy for the opportunity they had and the way they approached it, with seriousness and well-played victories. Each player knows their importance to the squad, so we were excited to be able to count on them too. Today's draw was tight and difficult, but their work guaranteed us a spot in the next round," he concluded.
Flamengo returns to the field next Sunday (4), at 17 pm, when they face Nova Iguaçu, at 17 pm, at the Mané Garrincha stadium, in Brasília.
