Emerson "Sheik" is back. After six years, the striker signed with Flamengo and was presented this Wednesday morning (17.06). In a conversation with TV Fla, he expressed his joy at being back and promised dedication.

First of all, I remember the affection I've expressed so often for the club; it's a childhood thing. Professionally, when I returned to Brazil, it was the club I chose to play for, and it was fantastic; it opened doors for an athlete who, until then, wasn't known nationally. So I have a lot of affection for it; I'm thrilled to be here again, thrilled for the recognition, for everything that's happening.

Reuniting with the fans is a very personal thing, very personal to me. I remember my last game here in 2009, against Cruzeiro, at Maracanã, and the fans begging me not to leave... The deal was already closed, and I returned home heartbroken by the affection shown. The fans recognize when they understand that an athlete wears the jersey, dedicates themselves, and gives themselves to the club, and I've only been here for a few months, but that recognition happened very quickly. I think this affinity with Flamengo fans stems from being a fan base of the people; it has a lot in common with me. I'm really looking forward to stepping onto the field and seeing the fans again.
