The midfielder started training in Itu, but an injury kept him out of Fla's first games after the World Cup.

During Flamengo's offseason during the World Cup in South Africa, coach Rogério Lourenço gained a reinforcement in midfield. Midfielder Antônio, a product of the youth academy and on loan at CFZ, returned to Gávea, underwent special fitness training, and even trained as a starter during the team's stay in Itu.

However, an injury kept him out of the club's first post-World Cup matches. Now fully recovered and included in the squad for the derby against Vasco, he hopes to regain the coach's trust and travel to São Paulo next weekend.

"I'm already feeling 100%. I've been working hard, I was included in the last game and I know that with Correa suspended my chances of being used increase. I'll keep working so that when I get a chance, I can make the most of it," said the player, who despite feeling good, knows he still needs more match fitness.

"I know I still need to improve my game performance and also work on my physical fitness. This type of training match is important because it gives us more rhythm. It's very different from a team match, for example," he added.

According to fitness coach Toninho Oliveira, the midfielder has recovered from his injury and is in good physical shape, only needing a series of games to show his best football.

"Antônio feels the lack of match rhythm more, but physically, he's fine. He's been training normally with the group and, if Rogério wants to use him, I believe he won't have any problems," he revealed.
