On Tuesday (17), Flamengo coach Muricy Ramalho felt unwell and was taken to Samaritano Hospital, in Barra da Tijuca. There, diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, he was medicated and admitted for tests. Under observation, Muricy is doing well, but will not lead the team tomorrow, against Fortaleza, for the Copa do Brasil.
"He had atrial fibrillation, the same situation he had at São Paulo some time ago. We will evaluate it together with the medical team at the hospital. Muricy is under observation, has been medicated, and will be re-evaluated tomorrow to see if he can be discharged. At the moment, he is doing well," said Dr. Marcio Tannure, head of Flamengo's medical department.
Regarding Muricy's return to the field and to the team's leadership, Dr. Tannure was cautious.
"There's no chance of him leading the team tomorrow. We'll hear the doctors' opinions on Sunday, and we hope everything goes well. Then we'll be able to say whether he'll be fit for the game against Grêmio. Right now, our concern is his health."
