After the 2-0 victory over Internacional in a packed Beira Rio stadium, coach Filipe Luís praised the performance of the red-black team, who will face Estudiantes (ARG) in the next phase of the continental competition.

"We played a great game, a very complete game, with my players putting in a lot of tactical effort. It took a huge sacrifice to neutralize Inter's weapons. It's difficult to compare. Every game has its difficulties. We came from the World Cup, from beating the world champions, it's hard to say this was the best. Every game has positives and negatives. Our group is reinventing itself; many new players have arrived, some important ones have left. It has a new spirit, so this victory was very important to give strength and credibility to this group, which was already very strong and has everything it needs to become even stronger," said the coach. 

The red-black squad will have a day off this Friday (22) and will return to training at the weekend to continue their preparation. Mengão remains at the top of the Brasileirão with 43 points, three more than the second-placed team.
