The world of football is changing, and this Saturday (11.09), Kleberson could 'pay' a debt from the past. Scorer of Flamengo's goals in the 2-2 draw with Vitória, the midfielder revealed that he already had a good relationship with the team's current coach, Silas, even before he took over the team.
When he was just starting out at Atlético Paranaense, Kleberson witnessed Silas' skill with the ball firsthand and learned a thing or two from the veteran. Time passed, two World Cups followed, and this Saturday he was able to show that he truly learned. He came off the bench at halftime, helped Flamengo, and even scored two goals, securing a point.
"I owe a lot to Silas. He helped me a lot at the beginning of my career, at Atlético Paranaense, while I was still playing. The important thing is to help the group, whether on or off the field. That's what I try to do," said Kleberson.
On the other hand, oblivious to the praise from his player, Silas also made a point of highlighting the quality of Kleberson, who, according to the coach, can still help Flamengo a lot.
"Kleberson came into the game very well, but others also performed well, like Correa and Toró. He regained his joy in playing football. He returned to the kind of game he had with Atlético Paranaense and the Brazilian national team. It's time to show affection to the players. What happened to Kleberson will happen to others, who are still downcast. Let's show them affection and we'll see the return," concluded Silas.
