Leader of the Brasileirão, Flamengo returned on Friday afternoon (14), at Ninho do Urubu, and began preparations for the clash against Athletico-PR, which will be held next Sunday (16), at 16 pm, at Ligga Arena. The match is valid for the 9th round of the national championship.
The starters in the 2-1 victory over Grêmio at Maracanã did regenerative work in the gym, while the others went onto the field for a tactical activity under the command of coach Tite.
In the press conference after the triumph against the Tricolor Gaúcho, the red-black commander praised the teamwork to value the addition of three more points in the Brasileirão.
"I asked the president if I could be pretentious, and he said yes. Then I asked if he knew why we won, and he replied, 'Team.' Flamengo isn't just the 11 players who start. It's a working group. It's made up of fans, management, the coaching staff, and the players. We had five players in the national team, three injured, and two injured in the first half. If you don't have a team, a working group, you won't be enough, even with the support of the fans," Tite stated.
The squad returns to training this Saturday (15) morning, and then travels to Curitiba, the location of Sunday's game.
