After beating Atlético-MG, away from home, and remaining at the top of the Brasileirão, Flamengo returned on Thursday night (4), at Ninho do Urubu, and began preparations to face Cuiabá, in the 15th round of the national competition. The match is scheduled for next Saturday (6), at 20 pm, at Maracanã.
The athletes who started the match against the Minas Gerais team did a recovery activity in the gym, while the others went onto the field to work on tactics under Tite's command.
In the 4-2 victory over Atlético-MG, last Wednesday (3), striker Carlinhos scored his first goal with the Manto Sagrado. At half-time, the number 22 remembered Dona Luzenilda, his mother who passed away in early June:
"I'm a guy who never gave up. I lost my mother 15 days ago, and I'm still grieving. It's been difficult, but I have to keep going. As I always think, she clothed me with her armor. The moment she saw I was ready, she left. It's a difficult time for me to say this. I know she's in the Lord's arms, and that's what comforts me. I want to tell (Carlinhos from earlier this year) that I'm a winner. I got here thanks to God and my hard work," said the striker.
