Brasileirão leader Flamengo returned to the pitch on Friday afternoon (19) at Ninho do Urubu and began preparing for the match against Palmeiras, which will be played on Sunday (21) at 16 pm at Allianz Parque. The match is valid for the third round of the national competition. With two wins in two games, Mengão will be looking to maintain its 100% record to stay at the top of the standings.
After the 2-1 victory over São Paulo, last Wednesday (17), at Maracanã, assistant coach Matheus Bachi projected the clash against Palmeiras.
"Palmeiras is a very strong team, with a squad that has proven consistent in recent seasons. It's no wonder they're two-time Brazilian champions. We've already analyzed the opponent and have an idea of what we might face. It's a great Brazilian football derby, worth the same three points as today."
Mais Querido returns to training this Saturday morning (20) at CT and then travels to São Paulo.
