At the red-black squad's return on Monday morning (05) at Ninho do Urubu, preparations for the clash against Boavista began with technical and tactical activities carried out at Field 5. The next commitment will continue Mais Querido's campaign in the Taça Rio after the 1-0 victory over Botafogo last weekend.
Initially, the athletes participated in pre-workout exercises held at Flamengo's Performance Excellence Center (CEP FLA), which consisted of strength training. Next, they headed to the field for a warm-up. During the workout, the group performed coordination and muscle activation exercises.
The technical part marked the first stage of ball training. With marked sectors on the field, the squad divided into four groups and performed a drill focused on passing under pressure and movement. Later, the field was divided in two for attack versus defense activity, with three teams formed and two teams scrimmaged at a time.
Aiming at this Wednesday's duel (07) against Boavista, coach Paulo César Carpegiani made some adjustments to the team in a tactical activity that ended the training with the ball. Athletes complemented the work with a running exercise with traction.
Before heading to Volta Redonda, the squad will finalize preparations for tomorrow's match at Ninho do Urubu. The match against the Saquarema team will be played at Raulino de Oliveira Stadium, with kickoff starting at 21:45 p.m.
