After the activity carried out on Tuesday morning (21), Willian Arão spoke to journalists in the press room at CT George Helal, in Vargem Grande. The captain commented on Wednesday’s (22) opponent, Santa Cruz, and on the improvement of the red-black team in recent matches.

Next confrontation
Santa Cruz is a very strong team, but we are prepared for whatever situations the game may present. It's always difficult to play at the opponent's home ground, regardless of the team, and we know that their team makes the most of their home advantage. They won all three matches they played there. We faced them in the preseason and this will be another difficult game, but we are prepared.
Team evolution
It's difficult to pinpoint just one aspect when we talk about this change. We're playing better, we understand what the coach has been telling us, the tactical scheme is working. Zé Ricardo has a hand in this evolution, and the players are responding. Individually, my teammates and I have also improved significantly during the championship.
The red-and-black roller coaster
When I came here, I already knew that things always take on a much larger scale. With the team playing well and showing fighting spirit, which is something the fans really like, it creates tranquility. We have aspects to improve, but we are working on that to climb even higher in the standings.
Games outside of Rio
Flamengo rarely plays in those cities in the North and Northeast of Brazil. Whenever we play in those places, we always receive a warm welcome at the airport. It's wonderful to see the sparkle in people's eyes when we pass through there, since they see us so infrequently.
Paolo Guerrero's return
The reception was good. He's a very well-liked guy by the team. Unfortunately, he knocked our Brazil out of the Copa América, but no hard feelings. He fits well in any team. He's a very talented player and I'm sure he'll come back in great shape.
