Debut for Flamengo at the Temple of Football

I played against Flamengo and I know how much of a difference Flamengo fans make. It's a childhood dream to return to Maracanã. I'm from São Paulo, but we heard our parents talk about Maracanã packed with Flamengo fans. A venue that hosted World Cup finals. But as I said, it's a dream until the game starts. We have to put that aside. We know it's going to be a very difficult game, and we have to focus as much as possible to come away with the three points.

Meeting with the Nation

We know it'll be a driving force, that they'll push, that if the ball's close to going in, they'll blow. We're fully aware that they'll do their job, as the fans have done everywhere we've been. 

Final rounds of the Brasileirão

We know we have to play well and with passion and determination. There's no point asking them to do their part if we don't do ours. Our goal is the title, and we'll go after it until the end.

Versatility in the field

I've been sharing the role with my teammates, I feel very calm, at ease. It's been a difficult season, it's really exhausting, but we prepared for this.

Adversary

They have quality players over there, with a new coach. We can't focus on their position in the table. We went to play there against São Paulo and Inter, and they were tough games. We looked at the team and know Corinthians has a very good squad. We'll make the most of the week so we're prepared on Sunday. We know Corinthians's tracing game is very strong, as are their set pieces. They're consistent. They rarely concede many goals. They're a very compact team, with good individual players who can decide a match in a single play. We have to be alert for 90 minutes, control the game, and seize opportunities when they arise. 

Pressure from the Red-Black Nation

There's always pressure from the fans. At the Maracanã, in training, online... wherever we go, there's pressure. We're used to it; we know they'll support us from start to finish, for the whole 90 minutes. If we play poorly, they'll have to hold us accountable. We have to play a great game to win the three points. Regardless of whether there are many or few players who have played at the Maracanã, they're all seasoned, experienced, and they know how important this game is for us.
