Arrascaeta talks about Flamengo's marathon of games
Uruguayan says team needs to be prepared for a sequence of matches in the Brazilian Championship and Libertadores
By Communication - Flamengo - inWith nine goals and seven assists in this year's Brazilian Championship, midfielder Arrascaeta is one of the most efficient players in the Flamengo squad. In a press conference on Tuesday morning (24), the Uruguayan spoke about Flamengo's good moment in the national competition. In addition to this topic, the player emphasized the importance of players staying focused for the marathon of games ahead.
"It was very difficult to reach first place, and I think it will be even more difficult to maintain it now. Our group has to be focused on this, everyone ready to play. We have a string of tough games that we need to win. There are great teams close to us, but for us it's always important to take it game by game, knowing we have a chance to stay ahead," he says.
After matches against Internacional (on the 25th) and São Paulo (on the 28th) at Maracanã, the Rubro-Negro will face Grêmio in the first leg of the Libertadores semifinals in Porto Alegre. The midfielder says winning the competition is a dream and will work hard to achieve it.
"It's been a dream of mine since I was young to try to win the Copa Libertadores. I was in the semifinals with Defensor Sport, but unfortunately, we lost. I want to get revenge and try to secure a spot in the final," he emphasizes.
The red-black squad will work this Tuesday morning and finalize their preparations for the match against Internacional.
