Another authoritative away win! Playing in Porto Alegre, Flamengo beat Grêmio 2-0 on Sunday afternoon (13), in the third round of the Brasileirão. With another good performance, Arrascaeta was decisive and scored twice for Mengão, who took the lead in the competition with seven points. 

With two goals in the match, Arrascaeta became the second foreigner to score the most goals wearing the Holy Mantle, at 78. 

The game

The match had barely begun when Mengão opened the scoring in Porto Alegre. On the first counterattack, Michael managed to thread a pass through the Grêmio defense, and Arrascaeta appeared unmarked, dribbling past the goalkeeper and tapping the ball into the net: 1-0. 

With the early goal, the red-and-black team had more freedom to work the ball in the transition from defense to attack. In the 14th minute, Braithwaite crossed into the box and the ball hit Gerson's arm. The Grêmio fans complained about a penalty, but VAR ruled it an involuntary touch by the red-and-black captain. 

When Flamengo went on the attack, they threatened Tiago Volpi's goal. In the 22nd minute, Arrascaeta arrived on the left side of the box and crossed for Bruno Henrique, who shot from a tight angle, but the goalkeeper saved. 

In the final minutes, Flamengo valued possession, exchanging passes in the attacking midfield. In the 43rd minute, Michael received the ball on the left wing, cut inside, and took a shot. Volpi palmed it away to prevent a second goal. The first half ended with Flamengo controlling the game. 

In the second half, Flamengo continued to attack, looking to extend their lead. Two minutes in, Michael received the ball on the left, cut inside, and struck a powerful shot. The ball went to Volpi's left. Grêmio, in turn, tried to attack, but the Flamengo defense managed to neutralize their attacks.

In the 21st minute, Mengão extended their lead, again thanks to Gávea's number 10! Cebolinha, despite being down, managed to pass to Arrascaeta, who advanced unmarked into the box and gave a subtle touch to score his and Flamengo's second goal of the game: 2-0.  

In the final stretch, the Mais Querido (Most Beloved) continued to value possession. In the 42nd minute, Cebolinha charged through the middle, creating a gap in the Grêmio defense, and he took a shot from outside the box. The goalkeeper made the save. The game ended at Arena do Grêmio with another away win for Mengão.
