It was months of anxiety and rumors. The polls from the beginning of the year echoed in the minds of the World's Biggest Fanbase as the dream of adding another big name to an already highly qualified squad. The memories spoke for themselves: a two-time Brazilian champion, named MVP both times, and with a historic performance against the "Most Beloved."

On social media, the club and player were persistently urged by fans to achieve a happy outcome. And the 2013 tormentor became part of the nation.

At 21:30 p.m. on Monday, June XNUMXth, Éverton Ribeiro was officially announced as a Flamengo player. It was an irreverent announcement, with a joke that spread across social media and generated the hashtag #CoéEvertonRibeiro. 

The announcement posts were quickly leveraged by the Nation: on Instagram, the post reached the mark of second most liked in the history of the red-black profile, while on Twitter it is already in the top 3 of most retweeted tweets of the profile.

After the virtual celebration of the World's Biggest Fanbase, it was time to experience the red-and-black energy firsthand. Not even the nearly hour-long delay on his flight from São Paulo was enough to calm the fans' spirits. Crowded in the arrivals hall at Santos Dumont Airport, they sang and welcomed the midfielder as soon as he walked through the doors. 

From his arrival... straight to Gávea. At the club's home, he learned about the club's history and was impressed. At the interactive Fla-Memória exhibition, he joined his family and learned about moments from various sports, as well as trophies and idols from the Most Beloved. Attentive to everything, he absorbed the club's mystique with enthusiasm.

At Fla-Memória, he met the people most responsible for his arrival: the fan club members. He chatted and toasted Carabao with the participants, who exchanged points for the right to be in the right place at the right time. Also present was Leandro Miranda, popularly known by his catchphrase, which is also his stage name: "Coé Rapazeada." The star of Éverton Ribeiro's announcement video, he had the chance to meet the midfielder.

Ribeiro then left to fulfill media obligations. On the terrace of the Gávea headquarters, he spoke live with Fla-Twitter and recorded an exclusive interview for FlaTV.

A brief meeting with his family, club president Eduardo Bandeira de Mello, and executive director of football, Rodrigo Caetano, preceded the official press conference. There, he met with journalists and fan club members and presented the number he will wear during his years at Flamengo: the number seven.

With everything sorted at the clubhouse, the red-and-black team member got to know his new routine. At the George Helal Training Center, he met his new teammates. He was well received by the athletes and coaching staff and introduced to the facility's facilities.

Late in the afternoon, he was released to return home. The number seven now has two days of rest, as he did not travel with the group to Recife, where Flamengo plays this Wednesday (7). Ribeiro starts training on Friday (9) and, due to bureaucracy, is free to debut from June 20th.

It was a tiring 24 hours, but full of emotions. A remarkable first step on a journey that has everything to be remarkable as well.
