In addition to midfielder Gavilán, Flamengo introduced another reinforcement for the 2008 season. Former Guarani striker Éder signed a contract until the end of the Campeonato Carioca. The player spoke about the excitement of playing for Flamengo.

- "It's a dream to wear this jersey. Playing for a team with this tradition is what any player dreams of. I'll dedicate myself to the maximum to win many titles this year."

The player spoke a little about his characteristics to the red-black fans.

- "I'm a player who likes to play with a lot of speed, always attacking down the flanks. I'm sure I'll fit in well with the group and bring a lot of joy to the fans. I'm ready for this great challenge."

The young athlete can't wait to play in a packed Maracanã.

- "I've never played in a stadium as packed as Maracanã, in Flamengo games. Everyone saw the red-and-black fans celebrate last year. It's impressive how strong they are. It will be a dream to play at Maracanã wearing a Flamengo shirt."

Éder's idol is striker Ronaldo, and the chance to play together excites the young striker even more.

- "Ronaldo the Phenomenon is my greatest inspiration. If he really comes to Flamengo, it will be another dream that I will realize."

Éder was born in Campinas-SP on 09/01/87, and began his career in the youth ranks of Guarani, in 2000.
