After beating Guarani on Saturday (20.11), Flamengo's team remains to stay tuned for this Sunday's (21.11) round of the Brazilian Championship. This is because there are games that directly interest Rubro-Negro in the fight to leave the bottom of the table and in the dispute for a place in the next edition of the Copa Sudamericana.
In 13th place with 43 points and six points above the relegation zone, the team from Gávea will be watching three matches. At 17 pm, Vitória, in 16th place with 39 points, hosts title contender Corinthians at Barradão. The best result for Flamengo, of course, is a victory for the São Paulo team. At the same time, Palmeiras, with a reserve team, plays Atlético-MG, in 15th place, also with 39 points. A slip-up by Vitória could help the team from Gávea.
Then, at 19:30 pm, Avaí and Atlético-GO face off in a direct duel at Ressacada, in Santa Catarina. Avaí has 37 points and is in 17th place, while Atlético, with 40, is in 14th. A draw would be ideal for Flamengo, but an Atlético win isn't a bad thing at all. If all the potential results come to fruition, the team could even maintain its six-point lead over the bottom four.
"We'll see what happens this weekend. If that's the case, we'll have to plan another decision against Cruzeiro," said coach Vanderlei Luxembugo.
In the next round, Flamengo faces Cruzeiro, Sunday, at 17 pm (Brasília time), in Volta Redonda.
