Flamengo lost 3-0 to Atlético-MG this Saturday at Maracanã. The result put the red-and-black team in fifth place in the Brazilian Championship, with 49 points. The Gávea team's next match in the competition is on Sunday, the 19th, against Vasco, at Maracanã.

From the start of the match, Flamengo struggled to break down Atlético-MG's defense. Marking the red-and-black team's ball out, the Minas Gerais team made life difficult for Ibson, Kleberson, Léo Moura, and Sambueza. The first opportunities came from free kicks, created by Marcelinho Paraíba.

Always exploiting counterattacks, Atlético-MG created a dangerous opportunity in the 25th minute. Castillo crossed, Pedro Paulo shot, and Bruno saved the red-and-black team. In the 27th minute, Leonardo Moura advanced down the right and crossed for Marcelinho Paraíba to head against Juninho's crossbar.

In the 32nd minute, Castillo capitalized on a clearance from the Flamengo defense and fired a powerful shot from the edge of the box, leaving Bruno with no chance: 1-0 Atlético-MG. The second half began with Atlético-MG pressing hard. In the first minute, Marcelinho Paraíba took a dangerous free kick, scaring the Minas Gerais goalkeeper. Atlético-MG responded three minutes later. Pedro Paulo burst into the box, shot into the corner, and Bruno saved.

In the 19th minute, Renan Oliveira received the ball from Castillo, burst into the box, and simply had to choose the corner: 2-0 Atlético-MG.

Caio Júnior made another change to his lineup, bringing on Obina in place of Vandinho. In the 29th minute, Márcio Araújo crossed the ball, Bruno released it, and Leandro Almeida added another: 3-0 Atlético-MG. Flamengo still tried to pull one back with Obina, but the result was already decided.
