The 2020 Campeonato Carioca has officially launched. The opening ceremony was held on Thursday night at Cidade das Artes. Flamengo, the current champion, was represented at the event by players Pedro Rocha and Gustavo Henrique, as well as president Rodolfo Landim and vice-president of football, Marcos Braz.

"Personally, I consider the Campeonato Carioca the most charming in Brazil. We don't just want to win the Carioca... Flamengo's objective is always to win everything. We will enter the championships always focused and determined to win everything. For that, we have been working hard. Trying to strengthen our squad, together with the coaching staff... We hope to have good results in 2020, just as we had in 2019," said Landim.

At the event, the Maracanã stadium, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2020, was honored in a very special video.
