A foul on Vinicius Junior on the right side sent the entire Flamengo team rushing into the box. Then, in the 38th minute, Pará took a look and perfectly placed the ball in the right direction. Willian Arão rose as if there were no one else around him and, dominant in the air, headed the ball into the back of the net, scoring Flamengo's equalizer at the Maracanã.

After the celebration at the final whistle, the player spoke to the press in the mixed zone and celebrated Mais Querido's qualification.

"Flamengo always comes first. Qualifying is important regardless of who scored the goal, especially the way it was. We were two goals down, we fought back, and we never stopped fighting. Everyone deserves congratulations, including the fans who sang louder every time we conceded goals. This gave us the strength to chase the score," said Arão.

This was the midfielder's fourth goal against Fluminense, with three in 2017 alone. On the other occasions, Mais Querido drew against the tricolor team in three of them (3-3 in the Guanabara Cup final and 1-1 in the 2017 Rio Cup), in addition to one victory (2-1 in the 2016 Carioca).

"I'm very happy to score the goal. I've already scored a few against Fluminense and I'm happy to score another one with a full Maracanã. The most important thing is that I was able to help the team qualify. The fans were crucial. After their third goal, we were giving up and we saw the support from the sidelines. That was really important for us. We showed grit, desire, we didn't give up and we went after the score," celebrated the number 5.

The 3-3 draw qualified Flamengo for the semifinals of the Conmebol South American. Now, the red-black team returns to focus on the Brazilian Championship, as they face Grêmio on Sunday (5), at 17 pm.
