Flamengo's 2010-2011 basketball team relies not only on the technical quality of its players, but also on the team's unity and identification with the club and its fans. Therefore, there's nothing better than bringing back athletes who are synonymous with talent and who embody the Rubro-Negro. This is the case with shooting guard Guto and center Rafael Araújo, known as Bábby. Both had successful stints at Gávea and return to the club to win even more titles wearing the Sacred Mantle.

Guto was part of the team's first title under Paulo Chupeta in 2005. He led a team of experienced players to the 2005 State Championship final, when Flamengo upset favorite Telemar and won the title in a thrilling final at the Club Municipal gymnasium in Tijuca. He then played for several teams before returning home. After all, he grew up in the Flamengo youth ranks.

"It's a pleasure to be back at this club. I know the responsibility and visibility I'll have here, and I hope to fit in as quickly as possible with this winning group that Flamengo has and help the team win new titles," he said.

Bábby's story, however, is more recent. The center, who has played in the NBA and European basketball, first wore the Flamengo jersey in the 2008-2009 season and was instrumental in the team's victories in the National and South American Leagues. He ended up joining Paulistano in the 2009-2010 season, but has now finalized his return to a club where he experienced great moments and will reunite with great friends.

"I'm back to help Flamengo regain the National Championship and also fight for the South American League and Americas titles. I'll work hard to help the team reach the finals of the competitions. Titles are the result of hard work, and we know that," said the player, who also dreams of returning to the Brazilian national team.

"Playing for the national team is anyone's dream, and of course that motivates me. And I know that to achieve that, I have to do a great job here at Flamengo, which is my first goal," he added.
