Flamengo was defeated by Corinthians 2-1 on Wednesday night at Itaquerão, and said goodbye to the 2018 Copa do Brasil. After the match, coach Mauricio Barbieri gave a press conference and spoke about the setback in the semi-final of the national competition.

“We are very disappointed. We understand that we had the ability to play a better game than we did, and we are frustrated by the result. The idea was to create opportunities and more chances, but today we weren't effective. We weren't efficient, as expected, and that determined the outcome of the game.”

“The fans are certainly dissatisfied, just like us. The word that best fits this moment is disappointment. The pain is immense, but starting tomorrow we have to focus on the Brazilian Championship. We are only three points behind the leader,” concludes Barbieri.

Rubro-Negro turns its attention to the Brazilian Championship and this Saturday (29) it will go to Fonte Nova to face Bahia, at 21 pm.
