It's often said that first impressions are lasting impressions. For Felipe, then, the image he has of Flamengo, his new club, couldn't be better. The goalkeeper was very well received by the fans and warmly welcomed by his teammates. All of this has made the new number 1 at Gávea feel comfortable in these first few days as the Flamengo goalkeeper.
Aware that affection is proportional to responsibility and pressure, Felipe is not intimidated. The goalkeeper demonstrates personality and says he is prepared to live this routine at a big club like Flamengo. He already saw proof of this at Londrina airport, when about 150 fans showed up to support the team upon arrival.
"The arrival was the best possible. I was very well received. When you arrive at a big team, the pressure is always greater, but I'm prepared for that. We arrived late, but even so, we received affection from the fans. There's a great structure here, and it's good to work here," explained the goalkeeper, who also spoke about the importance of this start to the season.
"The first day is always the worst. It's complicated until the body gets used to the end of the holidays. But we have two weeks to prepare. When we step onto the field, it's to win. But it's normal not to be 100% physically fit, so the fans have to be patient," he emphasized.
Excited, Felipe doesn't want to hear any speculation about his off-field behavior. Putting the controversies aside, he only thinks about being successful wearing the Flamengo jersey.
"I want to continue winning titles and for off-field problems to stop happening. I hope that this year the only news is about what Felipe does on the field. I have to hold myself accountable. I'm not a saint, but I'm also not as controversial as many people say, and I have to give my answer on the field," he concluded.
