Flamengo officially announced this Wednesday (29) the signing of Danilo, who played for Juventus (ITA). The 33-year-old athlete, with extensive experience in European football, signed a contract until the end of 2026 and is the second reinforcement for the red-black team for the 2025 season. He will wear the number 13 shirt.

Born in Bicas, Minas Gerais, Danilo began his professional career with América-MG in 2009, at just 17 years old. The following year, he was signed by Santos and became one of the team's main stars, winning the Campeonato Paulista and the Libertadores in 2011.

That same season, the defender transferred to Porto (POR), beginning his journey in European football. Four years later, Danilo signed with Real Madrid, winning two Champions League titles, a La Liga title, a European Super Cup, and a Club World Cup.

Still on the Old Continent, the player was announced by Manchester City in 2017, and won five titles: two English champions (2017/18 and 2018/19), two English League Cups (2017/18 and 2018/19) and one FA Cup (2018/19). Before agreeing to come to Mengão, Danilo played for five seasons at Juventus, being captain and one of the pillars of the Italian team.

For the Brazilian national team, he was called up for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. He is the current captain of the green and yellow team, led by Dorival Júnior.

And don't miss it! Danilo, Mengão's new signing, will be officially presented this Thursday (30), at 20:15 pm, in the Maraca press room. Watch live on FlaTV!
