Flamengo's 2-0 victory against Chapecoense this Saturday (9) had a special taste for Orlando Berrío. After suffering a serious injury in October last year, the Colombian spent ten months in a tough and long recovery. At 34 minutes of the second half, Maurício Barbieri called him to enter the field and, to shouts of "Berrío", he experienced a unique moment.

"Yesterday during training he asked me how I was feeling and saw that I was training very well, improving. Then he told me that he was going to put me on the bench and that, if he had the opportunity, he would put me in to play. The decision was his and I was prepared from the moment I found out about the squad list. It was very emotional," said the player.

Recalling the difficult recovery process, Berrío became emotional when speaking about his return. "All of that flashed through my mind. More than ten months since I was injured. I had to walk with crutches and couldn't even put my feet on the ground, I had surgery, and it was a very long road. Thank God I'm back wearing the Flamengo shirt. I thank my teammates, the members of the coaching staff, my wife, and my daughter. They were very important in supporting me to return to the field," he said.

As he began warming up, the number 28 started hearing the fans chanting his name from the stands. "It was very emotional every time the fans shouted: 'Berrío'. For me it was a very big emotion. That's why I felt the responsibility to go in and give everything for everyone who believed in me. I will work twice as hard to continue," Berrío exclaimed.

Flamengo returns to the field next Wednesday (12), at 21:45 pm, against Corinthians. The match is valid for the first leg of the Copa do Brasil semi-finals.
