Marked by glory, Flamengo's history is intertwined with that of more than 33 million Brazilians. And to express such greatness, only a bible would suffice. With this in mind, journalist Luís Miguel Pereira created the "Flamengo Bible," which will be launched this Thursday (December 02.12nd) at 20 pm at the Fnac in Barra Shopping, published by Almedina Brasil/Prime Books. Importantly, the club's greatest idol, Zico, contributed to the publication by writing the preface.

The Flamengo Bible tells, through short texts, the winning history of Brazil's biggest club. And the author hasn't forgotten a single episode of the Flamengo biography, which turned 115 in 2010. He discusses everything from curious anecdotes to famous quotes and historic teams, as well as notable matches.

And the author of such a masterpiece could not be just anyone. Portuguese, Luís Miguel Pereira is a renowned journalist in the sports world, having published 23 books on football alone. He recently wrote "The Bible of the Spanish National Football Team," which features a preface by Iker Casillas, and "The Bible of Real Madrid," with a preface by José Mourinho, which, like the one about Flamengo, will be released at the end of this year.

Another curious fact is that Flamengo had never licensed a book by a foreign author. History also doesn't record any Portuguese writer who wrote about the club. This feat was accomplished by Flamengo's Marketing Department, through the licensing department.

ALL INVITED
The launch event for the "Bíblia do Flamengo," which will feature the author and Zico, will be open to fans, with no formal invitations required. Starting this Thursday, the publication promises to be a must-have book for all Flamengo fans.
