Welcome, Rueda: Coach signs contract at Gávea and visits Ninho do Urubu.

The first moments of the Flamengo coach and the new members of the coaching staff of the beloved team.

Putting an end to the great expectation on the part of the fans, Reinaldo Rueda was officially announced this Monday morning (14) as the new Flamengo coach. Before visiting Ninho do Urubu, the coach was at Gávea, where he signed his contract with Flamengo. Then, a tour through the rich history of his new club in Fla Memória. 


Guided by staff from the Historical Heritage department, several moments from the team's career were recalled by the coach and his assistants Bernardo Redín and Carlos Eduardo Velasco, such as winning the Libertadores Cup and the Club World Cup in 1981, as well as other significant titles. 

Following that, the professionals had their first contact with the facilities of the George Helal Training Center. The new workplace was presented by president Eduardo Bandeira de Mello, football director Rodrigo Caetano, and CEO Fred Luz.

Members of the coaching staff were greeted by the coach and his assistants during the visit, before the words were addressed to the group. The new members of the coaching staff visited Flamengo's Center of Excellence in Performance, which houses the physical preparation, physiology, physiotherapy and psychology departments of the club, as well as other facilities such as the restaurant, the dormitories and the auditorium.

Alongside board members, Rueda and his assistants were formally introduced to the athletes and had their first conversation before the squad headed to Field 5, where preparations began for the next challenge of the season, against Botafogo. The match, valid for the semi-final phase of the Copa do Brasil, will be played this Wednesday (16), at 21:45 pm, at Engenhão.
