Ronaldinho is joining Flamengo. The official announcement was made late Monday night (January 10.01) in Rio de Janeiro, and the news quickly spread to the city of Londrina, in northern Paraná, where the red-and-black team is conducting its preseason. The players' curiosity about the possible deal quickly turned to euphoria over the signing of one of the biggest names in Brazilian football history.
The quickest and most practical way for the red-and-black players to express their happiness was Twitter. On the microblogging site, they welcomed R10.
"Now it's official! R10 is from Mengão", celebrated goalkeeper Felipe, also signed for the 2011 season.
Captain and longest-serving player in the squad, Leonardo Moura was the one who spoke the most – and even posted a photo of himself with Ronaldinho on his microblog profile.
"Welcome R10! The Nation awaits you with open arms, and as you said yourself: Flamengo is Flamengo. Congratulations to the entire Rubro-Negra Nation for this great achievement! Our club deserves to have great stars," celebrated the player.
Defender David, in addition to praising Ronaldinho, also remembered the board, who worked hard to bring the player in.
