Striker Cristian Borja made his first start for Flamengo last Sunday (August 01.08st). Signed from Caxias-RS, the 22-year-old center forward made his debut in a Clássico dos Milhões and narrowly missed out on deciding the match. Borja missed a good chance to score and lamented not leaving the field with the victory.

Aware that he still needs to improve, Cristian believes that with a sequence of games, he can continue to improve. The striker hopes to gradually earn the trust of the red-and-black fans.

"We always have to improve. Unfortunately, that goal didn't come, it could have been an even better debut, but I'm here to keep working, improving and, little by little, earning my place and everyone's trust," he said.

The Colombian knows the importance of having a good performance against Corinthians, next Sunday (07.08), and hopes to help Flamengo win three more points in the Brasileirão.

"We know how important a win against Corinthians on Sunday is. They're a direct rival for the top spots, and we're going there thinking about coming back with a win," he added.
