Young Cristian Borja made a good impression in his first games for Flamengo. The Colombian arrived at Gávea without much of a name, but he's gradually showing off his calling card to the fans and his own teammates. This Thursday (July 29.07), coach Rogério Lourenço named the player among the starters in the first tactical training session before the derby against Vasco, and even though he doesn't know if he'll start on Sunday (August 01.08), the striker is excited.

"We don't know the lineup yet, but everyone is excited. I'll keep working, and if the coach needs me, I'm there to help the team," he said.

After tactical training, the player, along with Marquinhos, Val Baiano, Juan, and Michael, practiced finishing separately. The idea is to hone his aim to avoid wasting chances to score his first goal for the red-and-black team.

"I've been practicing finishing a lot. It's good for us so we can take advantage of our chances in the game," said the striker, who was praised by Zico after the match against Internacional.

"It's important to hear praise, especially from Zico. But I know I have to keep showing my football skills. We haven't won anything, there's a lot of championships ahead, and we have to keep working hard," he added.
