This afternoon's training session at the SM Sports training center marked some debuts in Flamengo's preseason. Bottinelli and Maldonado worked with the ball alongside their teammates for the first time. Rain also made an appearance. Dark clouds hung over the training center's fields, and it fell throughout the entire session.
Coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo and his entire coaching staff led a technical training session on Field 2 of the training center. The players worked on ball possession, with the group divided into three. On one half of the field, two teams faced each other in a 12-touch drill. On the other half, the remaining team practiced ball control.
During the activity, the coach gave several instructions. The assistant coach, Lopes Junior, officiated the training session, while Luxa observed and commented on the players' mistakes and successes. Goalkeepers Felipe, Paulo Victor, and Vinícius worked separately, each focusing on catching the ball during the period. Marcelo Lomba, who will be loaned out, returns to Rio this Tuesday (January 11.01th) and did not train.
The black team consisted of David, Deivid, Bottinelli, Willians, and Angelim. The red team had Maldonado, Leo Moura, Wanderley, Renato, Egídio, and Welinton. The team without vests consisted of Jean, Marquinhos, Vander, Fernando, and Rodrigo Alvim. After the ball possession training, Luxa led a finishing drill.
