Fight for artillery motivates the group

Andrade believes that the dispute between Love and Adriano is healthy for the red-black squad.

Everyone already knows that Adriano and Vagner Love are crucial for Flamengo. After all, the so-called Empire of Love has already scored 24 times in 17 matches this season. However, for coach Andrade, this duo does more than just score for Flamengo. According to the coach, the battle between the two for the top scorer spot in the Campeonato Carioca, for example, also benefits the team's mental health.

The numbers prove the importance of these forwards to Flamengo. Adriano has 11 and Love has 13 goals this season, 10 and 11, respectively, in the State Championship. In the match against Tigres, the Emperor scored twice and the Artilheiro do Amor scored once, maintaining the tradition that when at least one of them scores, Flamengo never loses.

"I really like their ambition to be top scorers. It only motivates the group and themselves. This competition is very good for me, as I have two great, motivated players in the squad," he explained.

Adriano has been scoring in three games: one against Vasco, two against Botafogo, and two against Tigres. Vagner Love, meanwhile, hadn't scored in three matches. This proves another analysis by coach Andrade to be correct.

"It's very important for Flamengo to have two strong players up front. I know I can count on one or the other. When one isn't doing well, the other can end up scoring. That makes things easier," he concluded.
