Coach Andrade isn't just concerned with playmaking when it comes to selecting his team. Having a large and qualified squad, as every coach desires, also poses challenges. Among Flamengo's five first-team midfielders, the competition is fierce. There are only three spots available for these players. Toró, Maldonado, Willians, Kleberson, and Fernando are still seeking their place in the starting eleven.

If it's up to Andrade, everyone will continue to have their chances. For Sunday's game against América, the coach has already decided on his starting lineup, which doesn't mean there won't be any changes throughout the match and the season.

"We have five players for three positions. We'll look for the ideal player for each situation, without unfairly targeting anyone and with a clear set of criteria. We'll give it time, and things will work out. Today, I opted for Toró, Kleberson, and Willians. That doesn't mean I can't use Maldonado during this game," he explained.

Chilean Maldonado, who returned to play after four months away, has no problem sitting on the bench and also guarantees he has no preference for any teammate if he starts.

"I don't know if I'll start. That's a decision for Coach Andrade. But if I'm chosen, I don't have a preference for teammates. We've been together for a while here at Flamengo, and we know each other very well. Toró plays more defensively, stays a little longer. Willians, on the other hand, moves forward a little more. That's actually good, because they're two players who give the coach options to set up the team in the best way, depending on each game," he analyzed.

Flamengo is confirmed for the match against América with Bruno, Leonardo Moura, David, Fabrício and Juan; Toró, Kleberson, WIllians and Vinícius Pacheco; Vagner Love and Adriano.
