On another day of grueling physical training, the goalkeepers are happy, as despite the intensity of the work, they at least have direct contact with the ball. The days of sacrifice at Granja Comary have revealed a group determined to prepare as best as possible for this year's season. Experienced goalkeeper Bruno confirmed another commonality among the players yesterday. Analyzing Flamengo's potential in 2009, he emphasized the importance of, above all, everyone forgetting the past year.

"Despite the difficulty of the Brazilian Championship, I don't think it's ever been as easy to win as it was last year. Given our quality, the two best full-backs in Brazil, a great defense, and excellent players in midfield and up front, I think we could have won the title. But there's no point in dwelling on that anymore. The way forward is to forget the past and focus on the year ahead. The work is being done well, Cuca knows how to organize the teams he coaches very well, and we'll do everything we can to ensure things don't happen like they did in 2008," the goalkeeper commented.

Flamengo's retention of its core squad is, for the club's number one, an advantage over its rivals. Bruno, however, emphasizes the importance of not underestimating its main rivals.

"We have a certain advantage in the State Championship and the Copa do Brasil, but Vasco, Botafogo, and Fluminense also have strong teams and deserve all the respect. Whoever dedicates the most and fights the hardest will come out on top."

Bruno also spoke about the possibility of playing with Zé Roberto, a rival in recent years in matches against Botafogo.

"He'll come to help us and has already proven his quality. At Botofogo, he just didn't make it rain," Bruno joked. "I hope Zé is here like he was when he was an opponent, a player who scores goals and puts his teammates in position to score. He'll be very well received. The rivalry is in the past; he's our friend now."
