Bruno: “We’re still in the fight for the title”
The goalkeeper is confident of a great result on Wednesday, against Figueirense, in Florianópolis.
By Flamengo Archive - inEven with the 2-2 draw with Fluminense, goalkeeper Bruno believes Flamengo remains in contention for the Brazilian Championship title. According to the player, the points difference between the top-ranked teams means Flamengo still has dreams of a sixth title.
"Flamengo is still in the fight. We're seventh, but the points difference is small. We have the example of last year, when we escaped the relegation zone and secured a spot in the Libertadores. The Brazilian Championship is very difficult and evenly matched, so Flamengo will certainly fight for the title. Grêmio and Palmeiras have a slightly larger lead, but we have the ability to turn this situation around. We're confident. The squad has strengthened, and we know we can improve."
For the game against Figueirense, Bruno believes that Flamengo cannot think of any other result other than victory.
"We have to go after them. The game will be tough, but we have to win. The important thing when playing away from home is to get points, but in this case, we have to win. If we want to fight for the title, we have to win in Florianópolis."
