Goalkeeper Bruno came out publicly late Thursday afternoon (May 13.05) to apologize to Flamengo fans. After the game, the Flamengo captain gave an interview on the sidelines, in which he said he didn't give a damn about the boos he was receiving. However, after training on Thursday, when the group returned, the goalkeeper gave a press conference to clarify what happened, which was misinterpreted by the press.

The goalkeeper lamented the fact that he was treated with boos and insults by a small group of fans and assured that his words were not directed at the entire crowd.

"It wasn't aimed at the fans, but at some people who were in my direction, cursing and booing me. I don't think I deserved that. I was upset, yes, and if any fan felt hurt, I apologize. I was really sad about the loss. I couldn't sleep thinking about it, but I trust the group and I know we'll fight for a spot," he said.

Striker Vagner Love praised the team's experience and the goalkeeper's importance. According to him, the number 1 suffers much of the criticism precisely because he has the personality and leadership to handle it.

"The pressure is on him a lot, especially since he's captain. But all players have to be held accountable equally, and we know we didn't perform well yesterday. It's normal for us to be upset about the result and the boos. But we know how to deal with it. We're experienced players, and Bruno is crucial for us to get that spot," Love added.
