Zico, Adriano, Romário, Obina... stars who scored twice in the same match

This Sunday, Flamengo faces another clash to maintain its lead in the Brazilian Championship. Mengão will host Sport Club do Recife at the Maracanã stadium, potentially opening up a significant lead over the second-place team. The stadium will be packed. The nation has already secured over 45 tickets and is expected to buy more.

Of course, we're saving an honorable mention for Sávio, who in '94 laid waste to the Pernambuco team, scoring three at the Maracanã Stadium. But we'll get there. 1. Start with Him right away
In the year of their second championship, Mengão hosted Sport at Maracanã, and Zico made no mistake. A 2-0 victory, with two goals from Galinho. 2. Nervous Shorty
In the 1998 Brazilian Championship, Romário had some excellent performances for Mengão. One of them was on a rainy Wednesday in Rio, when Flamengo and Sport faced off in the Brazilian Championship, in the 22nd round. The Most Beloved were coming off a victory over Atlético-MG with two goals from Romário. And the Shorty was fired up, wanting more.

4. Oooh... Obina is better than...
"The game lasts 90 minutes, but it only ends when Obina says it can." Of the many Obina Facts we verified during his time at Flamengo, on June 29, 2008, this one became reality.
Playing at Ilha do Retiro, Obina reigned supreme. He opened the scoring after just eight minutes, tapping in a cross from Juan. The message was clear.
But Sport, in front of its home crowd, wanted to show off and sought an equalizer. Why? They provoked the beast, and it responded with exquisite cruelty. In the 44th minute, it capitalized on another cross from Juan and sealed the victory.
If Obina is on the field, it's best to wait for the final whistle. Always.
5. King Vulture holds Sport
The fifth game on this list wasn't a victory, but given the circumstances and the goals, it's worth adding to the list. Ilha do Retiro was packed, the pitch was in disarray, and the team suffered from early competition slumps against a spirited Sport team. But Flamengo took the lead, with Renato Abreu scoring from the penalty spot in the 15th minute. The goal calmed the game down a bit, but the home side equalized in the 35th minute, galvanizing the crowd.
Renato, once again playing his specialty—set pieces—put Mengão ahead. In the 16th minute, he took a well-placed corner kick, and the ball deflected off Osmar, deceiving the goalkeeper. The referee awarded the goal to Renato, so he makes our list today with his semi-Olympic goal. Sport tied again, but the result, considering the game as it was, ended up being a welcome addition to their luggage back to Rio.
6. (Very) honorable mention.
The Blond Angel was a devil on that September 25, 1994. Sávio mistreated Sport at the Maracanã in the Brazilian Championship. He scored three, but could have scored more if not for the Pernambuco team's goalkeeper. Sávio was responsible for all the attacking plays, whether creating or finishing, everything went through his left foot.
But the goals refused to come, and only in the second half did the ball go in. In the 18th minute, he received the ball outside the box, adjusted it, and sent it into the corner to make it one-nil. He opened the floodgates.
Magno received the ball from Hugo, went down the wing, and crossed for Sávio, who headed the lead. Sport was already giving up, but Sávio still wanted more. A minute later, he collected the rebound in the box and fired twice to score the third and seal the victory. A great afternoon for the star who made it to Gávea.
