Caio Júnior stays at Flamengo.

Kleber Leite announced the renewal of the coach's contract until December 2009.

Flamengo's vice-president of football, Kleber Leite, announced early Monday evening that coach Caio Júnior will remain with Flamengo. The Flamengo manager had a multi-million dollar offer from the Arab world, but renewed his contract until the end of December 2009.

"The news is great and the work will not be interrupted. Caio Júnior will stay at Flamengo until December 2009. We spoke with president Márcio Braga and we are going to change the philosophy a little. This contract allows him to do a good job."

Caio Júnior said that the opportunity to make history at the Club weighed heavily on his decision.

"First of all, I wanted to say that I was surprised by the conversation that took place here at Gávea today. I am very happy for the recognition from President Márcio Braga and Kleber Leite. They showed confidence in my work. I had a contract until the end of the year, but now I have an even better one, not in financial terms. I am very pleased. This maintenance work is essential. The opportunity to be part of the history of a club like Flamengo weighed heavily in my decision."
